Leticia de Bonilla
Blue Parks Science Intern
Leticia is a marine conservationist with a passion for turning big ideas into actionable solutions. Originally from Spain, she earned a BSc in Science at the University of Maastricht, specializing in tropical ecology and animal behavior. However, it wasn't until she acquired her Dive Master certification while exploring the Canary Islands that she discovered her passion for the ocean. She, therefore, pursued a Master's in Marine Biology - Science, Business & Policy at the University of Groningen, where she specialized in marine conservation and policy. During her internships with UNEP on the Caribbean Biological Corridor and a consultancy team in Costa Rica focused on shared governance of marine areas, she gained a deep appreciation for interdisciplinary sciences, stakeholder engagement, and impactful communication. She is excited about the opportunity to support effective Marine Protected Areas around the world as a Blue Parks Science Intern.
When she´s not immersed in marine conservation projects, you can find her exploring the underwater world or doing any other activity outdoors.
