Blue Parks Science Intern

Malloree is a marine scientist whose research centers on ecological connectivity and population monitoring to support effective ocean conservation strategies. She received her M.S. in Marine Science from the University of San Diego, where she investigated larval dispersal and diversity in relation to hydrographic and hydrodynamic conditions off the coast of La Jolla, CA. Malloree's recent work with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute involved fisheries population surveys, fish and elasmobranch stomach content analysis, and managing the largest source of trophodynamic data in the Gulf of Mexico, which plays a key role in ecosystem modeling and conservation management. Originally from Ohio, she assisted in a coral bleaching physiology lab and studied abroad in Australia and Fiji while earning her B.S. in Biology from The Ohio State University. Now based in Charleston, SC, Malloree spends her free time walking the beach, reading, and taking her two dogs to any and all places they’re allowed to go.
